Flashback 2010

I can't remember anything because too many things happened in the beginning.
I can't recall what really happens this year and I feel that I am unable to do like what I did past 2 years.
Anyway, I remembered that I went to Tioman with friends for the 1st time and also Penang for the 1st time.
A great experience from both paradises. Food Paradise - Penang ; Relax Paradise - Tioman
I ate a lot of delicious food in Penang, there were too many to describe as I ate for 5 days in Penang.
Asam Laksa, the prawn noodles, Butu Mayam, Rojak, Char kuey tiao etc..

Then, I also went to KL to relax after working non-stop for 3 months. I asked my supervisor to allow me relaxing for a few days. OK. Upon the National Day of Singapore, I went to KL. Just for fun. In the beginning, I didn't know where to stay. So, I just simply asked anyone in MSN to see whether anyone staying in KL and his house is available for me to stay. Ya, finally, thanks to Yoon Keat and Yoon Chee to allow me to stay. I had a wonderful moment with their family too. Speaking four different languages at the same time and sometimes there's a sudden switch to Mandarin, Hakka, Cantonese and also English. Funny.

I also bought a few books to widen my knowledge about the economics and other things. These books are absolutely great and I am really impressed.

Soccernomics - Putting the economics points of view in the soccer industry. And also some analysis from some football experts about the Barclays Premier League and Germany National Team. I like this book!

Freakonomics - From the title we read, freaky and weird. It's a different way of looking things. Sometimes, a small case can be a bigger one if you look from a different perspective. For example, the abandoned babies are related to the birth control and the crime rate. Interesting!

In lecture theatre, I kept on sleeping from the beginning of the lesson till the end! I didn't know what happened  and I knew that this semester would be doomed! Furthermore, I handled too many positions in ECA and also the project by my prof. I didn't even have the time to do the tutorial problems. All I can do was just copying the solution from the tutorial class. What ashamed!

However, I managed to pick up the lesson after week 7 of the class. No more sleeping yet still copying the answers. -.="" speechless..

Till now, this is the last day of 2010. NTU still owe me money! They are supposed to pay us (URECA students) by today!!!!
FYI: URECA - Undergraduate Research Experience on CAmpus, is a program such that to provides a research experience for the undergrads prior the final year project. It's quite helpful for me because I learnt quite a lot from this program. Self learning for MATLAB, which I have no idea what it is about.

Of course, there are also downs in this year. I don't want to mention them because they are hurtful and meaningless for me.

That's all I have..

2011 has MORE TO COME!

New year resolution : New me...no more painful experience!

Arsenal and Malaysia

Two matches in one day, that would be a great satisfaction for a die-hard football fan like me. But, greater disappointment for me as for a DIE-HARD Arsenal fan, they drew at Wigan side. So unfortunate to witness a draw after the ultimate win against Chelsea. Sigh..

Anyway, I am happy and proud that finally, Malaysia lifted the AFF Suzuki Cup!! AFF Suzuki Cup is the most prestigious tournament in South East Asia, which Thailand and Singapore dominated the tournament for so long. Malaysia beat Indonesia 4-2 in aggregate! They didn't lose to laser beam anymore!! The team, though did not play so well as what they had in 1st leg, they extended their gap with a wonderful goal in Indonesia. So glad to see that.

But, if the government is as competent as what the team did, I am proud of them too. Seriously, the government still has a lot of space to improve.

According to a journalist :
"‎The only thing that makes Malaysians stand together regardless of race, religion or political affiliations is when we support our national team. 1Malaysia is nothing compare to sports." (Nicholas Chan, 2010)"

True enough! Everyone is cheering for them( Football fans, if you are not one of them, just put the hands together for what they did, though it might not happen next time - it's HISTORY! ). I hope that this will not be the next Thomas Cup for you.
However, it's sad to see not even a single Chinese playing in the national team like what we had last time, for instance Dato' Soh, James Wong .....isn't there any Chinese player in the league at the moment? ( I have been long time out of the clique with the local league, sorry).

1Malaysia is not a public announcement blindly anymore. It can be a simple/great achievement through anything. For example sports! Sports unite all people regardless of race, religion or ideology. Yes, it's proven!

Well done Malaysia!

...speechless...

erm...
When the money comes, everything's fine..
When the money's gone, everything's kansai...
I really have to settle myself in a financial turmoil until NTU settles my salary prior end of the year..

Going home with no pocket money in hand is definitely a problem when your friends ask you to join the gathering. So, I am thinking of being "off" when I go back later. Is it possible?(anyway, many friends are not in KK at that period)
No, for my own personality, I understand that sometimes I am an emotional person(for no reason), so, I do need some friends to chat with me. I don't want to commit any silly things!

Erm, let me think again...Recently, my mind was a bit congested. Couldn't think properly. I am truly sorry for whatever silly things I've done. and for you guys back in KK, I am a jerk.
Emotional wave struck me again and again and I don't know why when I am alone, I will be like this!

Think too much? probably..
I am finally speechless about myself..

Silent Christmas Eve

For past two years, I flew back home for Christmas and this year, I choose to stay back though the exam is over two days ago. One of my friend told me to go to Orchard to look at the crowd but I am not going to pay the visit to the crowded place. I went for a Christmas Eve dinner with the friends who are still available in NTU.

I bet the situation in KK is different compared to past few years. Supposing it is more crowded than before. On the other hand, I think it's my fault to lose contact with all of my friends in KK/Malaysia. Sometimes, I think that I don't even truly exist in my friends' mind. Maybe they have their own life and their own topics. But somehow, I feel isolated whenever I go out to have a chat with them. I will never have a clique with them anymore..Perhaps, being silent is better than being nosy and noisy everytime...

Yeah..I am always alone..
.Merry Christmas everyone..

Post Examination Stress Syndrome( PESS)

I am having this kinda stress after the examination is over!!
Afraid what could have come out after this, I really have to find other things to do to distract my mind.
Luckily, there're still quite many of them, for example watching new movies, dramas , and doing project for the prof. AND...Clarke Quay Exploration!
After the examination, we(Kai Ming, Choon Siong, n Yih Keng) went to Clarke Quay to take a walk and had a dinner. The dinner was a good one and I never eat a delicious Ramen before!!! But, I forgot which restaurant as the place there is too complicated for me to find out.
This is the Ramen set I mentioned just now...costs $17.50++...but very nice!!!

After that, we took a stroll along the Singapore River and the sunset bar along the river. The atmosphere is totally different because there are many tourists there and some more we will take a glance on the sexy waitresses who dressed up sexily  (supposed to be like that, to attract tourists , unfortunately, I didn't take a photograph of it)

Singapore River at night
That's my update .. Can't wait for the next outings...

It's our life, isn't it?

Last few days after hearing my senior talked about his friend's death and also his other friends' marriage, he added,"Seems like we are old enough to witness these kind of things. Those beloved friends, accidentally died, suicide case, get marrieds...too many stuffs happen..But, what to do? This is our lives.."

Not only this, I've heard a childhood friend of mine, disappeared for no reason and his mother called him for 10 days without any reply from him. She called me to call him, no reply too...But I have no idea what happen to him until his aunt( his mother's sis) found him by getting the SMS from him. Doing well but, curiously I want to know, what happen to him??

As I grow up, anything can happen in the next seconds, next minutes. It's really unacceptable when it really happens on you. So, I really have to be prepared at every seconds in order to cope with these critical situations. Not everyone can cope it well and I know it.

Paul, send my condolences...Take care, be strong...

Lazy bug + Tiong Seng Construction Pte Ltd

I have no idea what to do now..continue to do my revision or just relax..
I don't know what to do because I studied for whole day and my brain is congested now!!!

After knowing that my internship company, I got a bit numb feeling..Don't know how to react towards this...
Faraway from the university and have to work for 6 days in a week with little pay.-.=" such a great JOKE!!!

Whether I like it or not, it will be another new chapter of my life after this semester, starting my internship in a foreign company. Well, at least the experience can be accumulated and will be a great asset for me!

Tiong Seng is one of the largest contractor in Singapore and I had been there for the scholarship interview. It was a nice company and the CEO  of the company is very approachable. What a nice guy.
By the way, I would like to choose a project which is not far away from where I stay now. I prefer that!!!

ARGH!!!! Exam is coming...Wish me luck!!!

Winners will always have the priority to write the history

Ever heard of this?

Winners take them all and always have the priority to write the history.

Perhaps, every story has a different version.

I wonder all countries have the same version of history.......

The lesson of good and stable economy

I attended a public lecture by a professor from Harvard University, addressing the title called " Asia and the global economy". This prof, to my impress, he is really a nice one but I was so unfortunate for not giving him any questions during the session.
So, here we go like this in the session.
Firstly, he showed the charts and the figures (about the past few years GDP of top 10 economy pre and post The Great Recession). China caught up very fast and also India, Brazil..

I was really surprised that Brazil is in the list and for the next few years, perhaps 10 more years to come, Brazil will continue stay in the top 10 list. I wondered why Brazil can have such a powerful economy.
Maybe USA is his neighbour? Maybe after the Great Recession, they became the biggest natural resources supplier in the region and made them became one of the top 10?
Here I want to stress out that Brazil is one of the most populous country in the world, not only vast jungle but also has the greatest metropolitan in the world, namely Brasilia and Rio De Janerio.
I have no idea with the PPP, but for the one thing I can be sure is, Brazil has a lot of natural resource, just like us(Malaysia). Brazil(anyone can provide me the data for this country?) , I believe, besides produces the best footballers in the world, they are also the great dealer( As we can see, they are the top 10 for the past few years).

Why is Singapore not included in this ranking? Isn't it one of the biggest in Asia? Where is Malaysia?
People( foreign investors) afraid of those potential factors that could affect their profits. Just like what we have in Malaysia, the unstable politics, racial issues, social issues are rampant. Risk adverse investors like me, 100% will not take any action on these countries. Right?
That's why Singapore has the winning situation - stable politics, friendly-business law, all-the-way-procedured steps, the demography of the country and also the better facilities compare to the neighbouring countries.

Good and stable economy, Malaysia should achieve this with no negative issues around. But, we have a good example to learn from, why Malaysia is still sleeping?! Don't tell me you are the sleeping GIANT!!!!

At last..

I never expect that my 200th post will post something like this..
At last, she got her Mr. Right..

I will bless them....(Don't I feel happy about it, do I?)

A senior told me before about a lesson that should be learnt in uni life is to learn how to let go.
I bet that I am still learning how to let go too...Maybe now, I can really have to let go..

Anyhow, I am still who I am...also waiting for the Ms Right, also waiting for the right moment, also waiting for the graduation, looking for a better life ahead....I just want to be the happy one..

Hazy days

Hazy days, AGAIN??!

Well, this kind of weather really makes people want to sleep, feeling uncomfortable to play, work and even having .....(ok, you know what I meant)

What happens actually is due to the burning fire(hot spot) from our dear neighbouring country-Indonesia.
They are the peasants in Sumatera and as a typical nomad peasant does, they burn the whole jungle for the sake of convenience and then use the land for agricultures(conventional thoughts).
OMG....this is terrible....a bunch of lazy asses ... why are they using such method to destroy the jungle?
Reason is simple, they don't have many manpower to do the deforestration and that's why they use the simplest way to destroy it..uneducated way...burn the jungle and cause the air pollution without considering the consequences and this is an uncivilized society's methodology!

We are experiencing the deadly air in Malaysia( especially West Coast) and also Singapore..
I can see the building just about 5-8 m in front of me. It's serious enough to have an accident!
Not only accident, health is once again in turmoil. However, it's a positive effect for the healthcare sector. The more patients in this society, the more healthcare workers we need, the happier the pharmaceutical producers are!..then, our Mr Ng and Ms Tan, and also Ms Christine Wong, sure have secured jobs!(anyway, doctors are always a secured job)

Everyone is wearing the mask again( as if we were heading back to the SARS/H1N1 period). It's crazy,MAN! I hope that I can see the blue sky as soon as possible...not healthy at all at the moment!

Joke from Seminar made me alive...

One day, I attended a workshop in my university about the fund raising. As a business manager of a society, this seminar is compulsory for me to attend and with the financial controller by my side( luckily she was there, if not, I would sleep throughout the talk!)

Well, the workshop went well. Started by the introduction ..blah blah....with the fundraising inside university. I just realized that there are a lot of funds inside university itself and not really have to outsource the sponsorship as the fund provided by university is always approved and the amount is also quite satisfying...

So, the workshop went on until there's a segment where this lady , a facilitator of the talk, addressed this...
"Do you know any current issues ?" I was just too attentive to the lady in front and suddenly she said " oh ya, do you know that FedEx and UPS merged to form a company already? called Fed-Ups...." -.="

Wao....a joke...well, this really worked for all of us when all of us were about going to sleep and suddenly there's a force pulling me back to keep on track with the seminar....

The seminar started at 2pm and ended at 6! 4 hours....sleepy of course..but I learned a lot from it...About fund raising, and also networking stuff....it will useful for all of us in the future where we will be the boss of a company to know other representatives...

My recess week+recently what I did

Recess week!!! But, I have no time to recess as I have plenty of matters to settle.
1. Matlab for URECA ( I had changed the title already)
2. Doing revision for the post-recess CA
3. Attending Matlab Workshop
4. Biz mag thingy
5. Doing Past year papers

Quite a lot of things in my mind and I have no time to take a breath. I wonder what other people will do in Singapore instead staying at home, sitting on the comfortable sofa and relax........That's what I want now...
RELAX for my recess week and don't want to do anything at all!

Recently what I did:
Anyway, I 've been rejected by the 1st choice company and surprisingly, I didn't feel bad at all. Numb?
Or not the 1st choice is always the best? I always tell myself that there will be another way to the best way. So, Arup may be not my destined one and now, I am waiting for a better one to come!

Now, I can feel the tense academically and ECA wise. I really have no time to cope with my academic and realizing that academic just a tiny part of my life and I think ECA will affect quite a lot in the future. Suddenly also realize that civil engineer is not a job for me. Maybe it will be my career but not my interested one. Maybe I need to do some investment like invest in stock market?

Anyway, I am always excited to learn new things, especially career-related and non-academic thingy..=)

Phobia to the project-based subjects

Project-based subjects are always my weakness..and now, from what I heard from my senior claimed that there will be at least 5 subjects that need us to do the project assignments.

OMG~~~What I need to do is really have to prepare to fight this! I scared of the projects!
1 more semester to final year...-.=" time passes damn fast and ..... sigh..

Please come faster please!!!! If not, after graduate I have no more time!

Ready to move on / out?

As the seniority in NTU getting higher, the university side will never and ever try to help you anymore in terms of getting hall(hostel is what we called in NTU)...
The distance point in the scheme for international students is deducted from year to year and so as seniors, we all have to find our way to move on (our life) or move out from the university.
But, the point is, due to this newly introduced policy, many of the students are not eager to join the ECA in university anymore. This is an adverse effect of what the university side expects to see---> more Singaporeans to join ECA and hall activities.
In fact, not all of them are actively participating in the activities. From what I saw from past two years, most of the international students were the one who always fought for the positions in the clubs and societies in order to get enough points to secure a room in campus.

Since the introduction of the new policy, all senior students (international) have to consider to move out of campus as not enough points gained and also they will not join any activities in year 3( as the homeworks and assignments loads are getting heavier ). However, from the point of view of a final year student, he or she might think that staying out of campus is  very inconvenient as they need to meet up their professors for Final Year Project.
It's not all the SAO(Student Affairs Office) 's fault when dealing with this kind of issue. Anyway, life moves on and moving out definitely not my choice....as I still want to enjoy the campus life more one more year..

National Day! You need to study Sejarah before you say : "Balik ke tempat asal kamu!"

Yo...It's Malaysia's National Day! We, as Malaysian, proud of what we have and had....
Vision 2020 is not far away from us...

Wait....

Just now I read the article about the racist's attack in KL...quoting "Balik ke tempat asal kamu!!"
Furious...
Well, if I want to discuss this thing again, I would like to ask all of you to read the history textbook again!!!
Sorry, I just realize most of the Malaysians don't like to read history....Kononnya sejarah boleh memupuk semangat patriotisme.....pui!!!!
It's getting more serious recently when this guy Ibrahim Ali and his gang revived the racism between races and made more conflicts happened..Ok...at this point, I want to know, is Ibrahim Ali illiterate? I doubt he is...never learned and studied history of Malaysia before...
The Malaya's independence was fought by three big races, remember?!

Nowadays, Malays, Chinese and Indians study under one roof, for instance in chinese primary schools and also more and more of them choose to study in chinese primary schools as the chinese primary schools teach those things that the national primary schools never teach..which is learning other language...to accept other people's language and culture, is not difficult...just open your mind and that's it!

Racism...a hot topic recently and it's untouchable until Ibrahim Ali, who almost everytime puts this topic on the table and said:"hey, we have our own special rights! and you guys have no place to stand in this country.." something like this...I really wonder what kind of special rights is...too abstract for me....
I just know that this phrase has been used for decades by the leaders ...to protect their own places in Parliament and also the money they have!
They never protect the lower level society of their own kind! So, is that called fair? For instance, orang asli...the aboroginal people in Peninsular Malaysia, they live in poverty! Is that called fair distribution of properties? Where's all the money goes? INTO THE POCKET OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PARA DATO' SEKALIAN!!

Please... stop the scandals...this will just worsen the situation and the economy of the country...This kind of scandal will just drag down the reputation of Malaysia as a good place to invest in...
Ibrahim Ali...stop it ok? your propaganda is useless at all....

You want to know the truth or not if you dare to say and ask all the chinese and indian to go back to their own place? You also indirectly ask your own kind to go back to your own place...you guys also the immigrants....you are also the one who conquered orang asli's land...

Sorry to say that as this is unacceptable when you ask us to go back to our place...Our place is nowhere but Malaysia....Please, if you really want to have good things for your kind of people, come on and fight like a man...fight for fairness...you don't accept means you guys are weak...

Nowadays, the credits all go to the wise one and not the one who does nothing...Think carefully before you talk about this sensitive issue...I am unlike you...we all prefer fair competition...

Once again, Happy National Day to Malaysia...I am truly Malaysian!

His blog...my comment

Ok...It all started when I read his blog..
His blog titled " Is Meritocracy a racism?"
Many of his fans comments were quite fanatic and I was very worried whether if I wrote something offended them then I would be in danger...Life's not easy as we all know and I posted my comment in facebook..

It's not a prudent decision to post a comment on a popular blog like Mahathir's one.
Everyone kept spamming my inbox(though I know there's a way to shut it down)
and what I saw was...quite many of them like my comment...
I don't know what I had commented on it..try to search it out and post here...

"Salam Tun, if u said meritocracy is for those who are elite in every field and are being labelled racist, then, I would say you are indirectly saying all people that who are "elite"( Malays, Chinese and Indians)...We need a fair competition among all of rakyat.. and of course why Singapore can do it because they have a small country and is easier to manage and handle as well as their own people self conscious...compare to Malaysia where the people in higher rank of society(para dato' dan datin..) seldom take care of the welfare and benefit of the low rank or low income society(especially Malay themselves)....and they just care for their own good..that's why corruption happens...
Sorry for any offense taken...“

It's quite respectful for him already when I began my lines with "salam"....
OK....here's the point...I read all the comments of his blog and what I saw was....there're still too many racists out there...pointed that meritocracy is a tool that we all use to destroy their privilege...I couldn't see any kinda protection towards poor one of their own people...there're 9 ppl liked my comments...and till now, still the most-liked comment...

There's no boasting here...But, just want to say that, more and more people like the way meritocracy works...just some of our people like it...

Running with time~

Time passes faster than you thought..
4 months time passed like that and we wasted the time like that..
I should have spend some time to go travelling and not just working..
But, in order to travel, you have to have some money in your pocket..

Well, I spend whole vacation period to work and travel also(took leave to KL)...

And now, what I have to do is just to pay attention to the work now and then, few days later, I need to move out of the current room and move to my allocated one..
quite far away from the one now and it's my own room again...
But, it seems very not organized at all..I mean my things inside the room now, everything is just messy and once I see those things, I just simply want to burn those things!!!

Next week, juniors will come in and we have to serve ourselves to them to make the orientation camp better..
Time, passes fast....We need to grab each second we have...

Saturday, August 21, 2010

One week to a new semester

One more week, I will move back to my own room.
One more week, the orientation camp will roll the ball.
One more week, the new semester starts.

I have no anxiety at all for this.
Maybe, when the time comes, then I will get myself ready on spot for what ever.
Train myself to take action on spot, that's why we do events, right?
One more week, I will be a senior to a senior to a junior. That makes me 3rd year senior..and time passes fast enough that I never realize I have been staying in Singapore for 2 years already..

Immersing in the harsh environment, I learnt, I experienced, I was in high, and low of course for everything, and always for me, emotion, not excluded at all..
Immersing in this country's culture, being a individualistic person is a must and you may no need to think what others think of you. Just do your best..Being individualistic might not be selfish..You can still offer yourself to others when they need you.
Just that , I define this term as you should do all the things yourself and achieve with glory and enjoy it yourself.
Most of the time, you will be alone and make judgement yourself..
Well, 3rd year, is coming and soon, there will be more and more excitement and also disappointment come in.

Life is always like that. Mixture of happiness and sadness and also mixture of easiness and difficulty.

I tried it

I tried to control...but, failed to do so...
My mind was out of control and I just want to stop this happening again..
Infatuation is too high in my mind towards this..
My nature of infatuation towards a subject is getting more serious than before...
I really want to get rid of this kinda bad thing...

I tried to get rid of it...
By releasing myself, being talkative and being positive to anything..
Tried to talk to her..
But, in the end, what I did was just the adverse effect...making her so fed up with my attitude...

Sometimes, I really want to think more about what kinda person I am..
I really want to change to a better one..
Is it real that Taurusian has this kinda attitude?
I really want to be an exception!

Tried to put this away from me..-ing...
Improving myself-ing

可 谓,non of the above 和”错“是有类似的意思..

对错和...non of the above...-.="

You can walk as fast like that?!

I have counted my footsteps in 10 secs...
What is yours?

Statistics reported that Singaporeans walk with average 15 steps in 10 sec...and I

20 steps!!!!!!

faster than them!!!

So, if I go back to Sabah, I could have left my friends behind!!

The vision is there, however...

Ok...I think he did not post any blog since I criticized his grammar, sentence structure and etc..
And, that day,(I have no idea how long ago), he came to me and asked me how much the rental in Sg city and asked whether I got any idea where the Morgan Stanley building is.

Firstly, I would like to ask him back that does he have any idea how much or how high the rental in the city centre of the city is. Well, we all know that Singapore has the highest living cost among the South East Asia cities and he has no idea ...that the 1st point...
Secondly, I am not looking down on the local higher learning institution degree holder. Someone like him who wants to come to Singapore to learn something..I am really happy to it and proud of that vision. But, up-to now what I've heard that only TAR College or UTAR degree holders afford to get a decent job in Sg. UM or UKM graduates are the next. So, where did the UMS graduates go to? Their English proficiency are not bad too..But, typically like that person I am going to introduce is the one whose English proficiency is under average.

Thirdly, when I heard someone ask: "Is IELTS difficult?" I sure answer yes of course. To this person, with his truly ambitious thought, with his English level is slightly worse than me, said that he can get band 7 out of 9..But, I only get 6.5! He is way too ambitious! With his lack proficient in English, I think he can't even speak well and write well in Singapore where all business are done in English, including speaking and reading and writing as well..Of course, Singapore, if you are able to speak some singlish then is totally perfect to them...

Well, next point I want to argue is...Morgan Stanley..a great investment banking firm in America, set up the branch( I suppose) in Singapore because they think that Singaporeans are good and also proficient in English(Singlish might be because Morgan Stanley's staffs in Singapore are mostly Singaporeans)...This, my friend, who really eager to go into a firm like that and learn in the company. After that, he will establish his own company in hometown. What a vision!
Ok, good....according to another friend of mine( undisclosed name), he told me that every single investment company whose the superiors are about 40 or 50s...and why? because they started their companies long time ago or roughly a few years ago due to their success in the long term investment...and setting up a company is a not-easy business...You need a lot of money...and my dear friend, who is so ambitious, wants to make big money and brings the money back home and establishes his own one...wao....a great great deal or not deal business!
At that time going back and setting up company will be only 30+...a very young CEO I would say...
Good...ambitious and ideally thought...(I think that my own hometown does not have that big type of investment projects, maybe in the future, it will change, who knows?)

Now, why not he just upgrade himself 1st by starting with his own English proficiency? and also why not he just think thoroughly of what I've told him and my friend advised .. a truly ambitious vision but lack of true ability..IF Singapore business is conducted in Malay, then, of course, welcome! BUT, Singapore is Singapore...English is dominating here...Keep it up with your postgrad study in UMS..I know you can, but if really want to learn, why not step by step?---->an advice from an engineer( not pro at all, but at least take it as an advice from a friend )

From the last post

ok....Sorry for a late post for last one...
To continue with the one I posted this morning(while I was working..), I would like to begin with a story...

NTU is the inaugural Youth Olympic Village for the coming Youth Olympic Games which will start from 14th till 26th..
and this morning, when I was in the car with my supervisor and the driver, the volunteers who were on duty to have traffic block in the car park..As usual, what the traffic police does is to stop the car and instruct the driver to the road side..yea, that's what the volunteers were doing on us...
Ok...I think they have not being instructed well by their own supervisors that the car( I used to be inside) was the NTU authorized vehicles...there's logo at the door...Didn't they aware of that?
And they were just being rude to the driver and the driver as response, in a angry manner answered them...
Well, Singaporeans are doing things just according to the law and rules that they need to oblige.
They need to have the sense of gracious, don't they??

Though the economic growth was a tremendous one and is an absolute example and role model for Malaysia to learn. Singaporeans behave just too strict between each other..
Kiasu....that's what I have seen on the 1st day they were on duty...

The driver kept mumbling at the volunteers and yes, the volunteers were rude...and the volunteers are not from NTU either, so, they are just working voluntarily, no wages at all and need to fully expose to sunlight and tiredness...Actually, if both of the sides show gracious to each other, then, this will not happen..
Unfortunately, this is Singapore...

For the story of Tim-do-Sing-job, I will explain further...

Please have a look in this website...

It would be nice if our country also has such progress..

http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_564229.html

I would say :" Good!!! "
On the other hand, be gracious please( I address this to Singaporean..)
More from me after this...

Contra and contrast in KL...

Kuala Lumpur or known as KL amongst local residents is a hub of everything in Malaysia.
As a capital city and business centre in the country, the metropolitan has gradually changed from its old fashioned look like what we knew in 19th century till now...

I had a short trip to KL recently and I found that the articles in the newspapers contradicted with what I saw.
People's purchasing power is extremely high and this astonished me that why on earth the articles in the newspaper or on the blog speculated the bankruptcy of the country. Well, I really thought of just within KL itself and never think of other place in Malaysia as in KL itself, it is way too facilitated compared to other places.

As a capital, KL serves as a trade in and trade out centre and gather all people from all walks of life in the country. According to my friend, Juin yi who recently likes to use economics terms instead of his own medical jargon said that during his posting in Tanjung Karang, people there live in poverty and illiteracy is quite high. So, we can't judge the situation just based on the situation in KL. Of course there's some place in KL are living in such condition but less illiterate.

KL is facilitated with their own public transport LRT lines and KTM( the worse public transport in KL but intercity is better) . LRT line, basically divided to Ampang Line, Sri Petaling Line and Kelana Jaya Line. LRT is considered a better version of KTM. Why? KTM is notorious for slow, massive usage and smelly compartment. Now, they have new compartment which is only for women and also new model from Korea(I suppose). The government gathers all the modal and capital in the metropolitan and optimizes the usage but the efficiency is low.

Like this morning, when I was having my breakfast with my friend's sis, I saw a gang of cops-liked people hanging around in the coffee shop. Then, I suggested that they were DBKL's authorities. Yeap..that's right. They are DBKL  authorities. But, time like 10 am, I thought they are on duty just like what we have in DBKK.. My friend told me that she was shocked when she was in Sabah last time when she studied..seeing DBKK's authorities worked so hard but DBKL's....-.="" Actually, KL residents pay tax for nothing in the end , seeing the money they pay to the authority wasted like this.. It's inefficient at all!

In terms of facilities, ok...I now really realize what is meant by first class facilities low class consumers..For instance, I really shocked with the condition in the Kolej Za'Ba. Building which is badly managed and the wall is "flourished" with amateur students' artwork. I wondered why and how the university side managed all these things. Afterall, to provide a decent environment for the students to study is the most important priority. The government should look into this case seriously and if the government really wants to improve the quality of the education, therefore then the facilities in the universities should be upgraded ( no matter what it takes! where all the money goes I don't care...Corruption and racism is still the biggest challenge in the country). and furthermore, UM is top 3 in South East Asia region(We should be proud of it^^, however, with the current situation of badly managed facilities, I quite disagree )...Tertiary students, shouldn't you aware of this??

Apart from travelling around the city, I was really happy with the warm hearted people in KL. Especially my friends who have been always so kind and nice. Taking me to 1 Utama ( where I never drop by before), watched movie( though it is considered the horror of the blockbuster) and ate chinese cuisine in the shopping centre, made my day full of enjoyment. Thanks guys..I know that you guys won't read my blogs..haha..
Also thanks to my friends who offered his bed to me and a shelter to me to stay. Aunty, you are a good mom and I am really thankful to you, appreciate it so much! Thanks for everything. KL....

When it goes bankrupt...

It was a scary thing to watch something that might not be true spreading like contagious disease,e.g. H1N1...
But, we all know that the speculation sometimes might be true and might not..

Well, we...as Malaysian always live in anxiety and doubting that when the country becomes bankrupt in 2019, what will it be?
I suggest that we migrate...
The speculation of the Malaysian Bankruptcy has been circulating recently after the nearly collapsed Greece in Europe. The government in our beloved country, which is highly corrupted and biased, afraid of what the Greeks have done. So, by taking out the subsidize they had done for so long, they believe that it will cure the economy..

Perhaps, this method may work under ideal condition. (Without rumours and speculation)
Another ideal condition is, the country accepts more and more Foreign Direct Investment and triggers the economy. Thus leading to a high income society..Not just by decreasing the so-called helping-people subsize only. On the other hand, if the government does not undergo reformation such as the reshuffle of the cabinet, the corrupted people get more corrupted, the fanatic racial or religious entities get more fanatic, then, here goes our Malaysia...boom!!!

Well, last time when I would have always hoping that our country will change and change to a better one by introducing the useful policy like the NEM ...New Economic Module...which is believed to help many people and which is also fair enough for every person in the country. However, this module is actually not supported by the remainings ( leftist ) and always oppose this module due to its harm to their own privilage...

I think that's why Singapore is always better than Malaysia in terms of competition and fairness..
They are transparent, fair and unbiased(biased from other aspects but not in racial). They are more open, they are growing bigger than ever...than the neighbouring country like us...(in terms of economic map)

Migration will work for me if really...Malaysia goes bankrupt and makes Ringgit Malaysia a piece of junk...

Holiday in July

During this holiday, I work like hell..
Plus the YOG is around the corner and the university side gives priority to all the YOG related person such as the committee members, athletes and volunteers. The students who want to stay in the campus encounter problems of accommodation.

Last few weeks(I think 3 weeks ago), I was struggling with SAO(student affairs office) to ask for accommodation on campus. After struggling with ridiculous reasons and with the advantage of first round room excuse, I got the room..It's like heaven if you have your own room and not staying in your friends' room where you will cause inconvenience for your landlord.(E.g. I saw my landlord was about to kiss his gf on the bed, and I was just like going into the scenery without giving any notification.)

With extra space in the room now, I always want to go out to buy some books to store in the room and I do.
Buy the books which are really quite widen my view towards the hidden ones. And also, with the holiday will end in the end of August and the Freshmen Orientation Activities(FOA) will be coming up at that time, I will be very busy and probably cannot go for the first lesson of the week.

Whether it's managable or not, I feel that NTU has promoted itself towards another tier in the world university's ranking. Though it's still far behind NUS or any other universities in the region. I still prefer this university as it provides a lot opportunities with just one certificate( as for the slogan of the EEE school..)

Holiday in July, why it's terrible? Because I really hate holidays and love it also at the same time.
Terrible because I had the mixed feelings again!
This kinda feeling came back and found me..I tried to resist it..
And I think the most important thing is when I chat with someone important now, I feel I am comfortable and soothing...a very nice feeling going through my soul...

Well, hopefully August( busy with FOA while working), will be a better month to come..
I just want to enjoy my holidays..especially weekends..buy more things...or save money for the next item spotted-----> Digital SLR camera...probably the cheapest one in my list...

Something that shocked me in the morning

For all people in Malaysia or in Singapore, people who embrace Islam cannot touch or eat non-halal food like pork and wine...well, this is a stereotype that we all know and we know that everywhere you are, all Muslims are all the same....Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, etc...

For some reasons which I have no idea why is like that, and to my shock too, Uzbekistan's Muslims eat pork and drink beer/wine ---> hard drinks!!!

My supervisor in Lee Wee Nam Library in NTU just came back from her trip in Korea and Uzbekistan. She told us her story during the trip and she is a Muslim. And usually for all of us as known, Muslims eat only halal food..What's halal food anyway? Is it non-pork and non-hard drink related considered as Halal? Maybe the chicken can be considered as non-halal too if the chicken is slaughtered in a brutal way...

Well, in Uzbekistan, the Muslims eat pork because it's part of their culture and they rear pigs since many many years ago. Uzbeks are farmers in a place called steppe( a inland meadow ). They rear pigs and chicken. But, they also have cow in my opinion. OK, maybe the cow they rear need more water than others. Uzbekistan, geographically is isolated from the sea and they hardly find water source except by one way, the river that flows from Aral Sea to Artic...This river has been stopped flowing for years and the river has become a lake instead of flowing motion thing.

They eat pigs, and I don't know why..
But, they don't eat pigs during fasting month of Ramadan. Rather than eat pigs, they eat fish!
They believe that eating fish will purify every sins they have done including eating the pigs..
Why eating fish can purify everything? Perhaps this can be a very good excuse for them..

Water is hardly found in Uzbekistan. So, water is a holy source for fish to survive. And since water is holy, for them, fish is also considered as holy food for them. That's why can purify all the sins they did.

Now, for the case of Hari Raya Puasa, I have no idea whether they still enjoying the pigs or having fishes as their main course meal. But, one thing I am very sure is Uzbekistan and Turkey are the countries who embrace the same belief---> Non radical Islamic beliefs..

Maybe eating char siew or siew mai in Uzbekistan is really a nice thing to enjoy for us(chinese)

Mistakes- I would like to post it in Freakonomics

Everyone makes mistakes......No one can avoid doing those stupid and simple things..
It has been in our lives and we always engage with this kind of situation..For example, I just went back from a forum regarding to the distinguished alumni's achievement...

One of the speech, given by the chairman of the forum I guessed...He said:" we are proud to have the distinguished alumni's list in an increasing trend....blah blah blah....." " one of the sitting distinguished alumni was skiing from Singapore TO Antartic"

Well, is there any mistake in the sentence??
If you are just purely listening to what the chairman said, it's truly not wrong at all..
But, rationally, did anyone build a bridge with permafrost on top of it range from Singapore to Antartic? That's a huge project we are talking about...

Well, a simple English sentence structure mistake I bet he made... Or I mistakenly remember that that was not what he tried to convey...
He tried to said :" ..... skiing across the Antartic..."...that might sound more rational..
To be honest, I don't really agree to have a construction object built across the sea...huge project and spend quite a lot of money...

This simple mistake that I captured and listed down throughout the forum...This was what I got..
"Skiing from Singapore TO Antartic!"....from a professor...you can see....professor still make mistakes...So, don't we feel ashame when we do the same thing, do we?

And also, there's a quite funny thing to share...Once you want to climb Mt Everest, and touchwood-ly saying you found yourself die so soon and there's something like this...
Ok....I won't go and do such thing in my life anymore because I really appreciate what I am doing now...and Mt Kinabalu gave me a lot of satisfaction, what's more I want anyway?

Well....for the forum I attended just now...it's simply ok and I found that most of the forum like this are too individually cored... namely it is just emphasized in individual / self improvement...
I would like to see something new...like team work thingy...and also about some amusing things like what I have read recently in the Freakonomics and Soccernomics...really interesting if you have time to read it..

Emotional post last year

Comparing now and previous year at the same period, this year I am quite good in mood..controlling it...not bothering any negative influences that might affect my emotion.

Last year, due to the routine- working and do nothing except working schedule, and was also experiencing the financial dillema during that period...I had a bad time at that moment... Seems like no one can understand me and I did not want to tell anyone for that...not only that...I was always in the trough of the emotion....always showed the pessismistic side of myself...

Now, is a lot better...I bet I did not post any negative post recently....And also, I am also working at the same place where I worked last year...a better situation now where I got better pay....though I need to wait for nearly 1 and half month for my salary to come to me..-.=""
I think that's not the problem...as I am ok with what I've now...

Reading is really can calm myself down...especially the funny one like the one I posted recently...
It's non-stop fun for me....I found it 's interesting to read those books...though my friends said that those can be borrowed from libraries...

From what I 've learned, I grow up......
Better in emotion....I bet....

I like it~

I like the feeling in this song...relaxing~

and what I really want to convey is ...I just like it~
Want to have a great feeling...
want to have a nice one to talk to, but no one can be my ears...
I just want to have a heart with me....^^

我的mode有点转不过来..以前只是听他劝;

Random: World cup + rumours

Spain is still standing....

1978'n1986' champion - Argentina,
1978+1986=3964,1974' n 1990' champion - Germany,
1974+1990=3964,1970' n 1994' champion - Brazil,
1970+1994=3964,1962' n 2002' champion - Brazil,
1962+2002=3964,so 3964-2010=1954, champion of 1954 was Germany!!!!!!!!!!

Rumours..

Facebook, I believe everyone is familiar with it...
and this thing..is being used as the device to spread the rumour.
.what the fuck fark!!!
totally disappointed with the people, especially close friends..
Just because a friend did sushi and there was extra rice and she gave me
to eat as supper,
it doesn't mean anything..stupid!
And you guys go spreading around..As I said in my previous blog,
if you really want to do like this, why not go and study mass comm?!
Why still studying in ntu? Why not working at SPH(Singapore Press Holdings)?

Really hate that happens as it will ruin everything...including friendship..
speechless for anything
happened last night(3/7)!

Breakfast + lunch @ newly renovated canteen 1

It has been ages ago when I dropped by at canteen 1.
And unexpectedly, I was shocked with the newly designed interior facade and it is really astonishing..(I did not take the pictures down, too bad...)

Well, there were only 3 or 4 stalls previously and now add in a few Hong Kong style dishes and also the drinks..
Not bad at all and of course, with the new interior design and the new owner, the price of the food is also better...What I mean better here is more expensive than before!!! shit!

I can't believe that this toast, previously sold just 80 cent or 90 cent, now in $1.10!!
The drinks, with no ice tea or ice coffee...they add the ice coffee with ice cream, because they (the stall owner) claimed that it's HongKong Style~~
So, I called for a normal tea....quite nice but still too expensive because previously it was sold at 50 cent, and now in 80 cent!!!!

It(The price) is really a big leap and perhaps it is done for the sake of YOG...who knows?
and of course, the quality of the food at can 1 is better than before and I hope that I can try more good dishes in this canteen in the coming days...^^( though is expensive, I still want to try it out....can't resist it when your principle of life is enjoying the food!!)

Politician

I am not a politician of course...
But, who knows what will happen in the future?

When I was around 5 years old, I read a newspaper, probably known as The New Sabah Times if not mistaken, I read the headlines and suddenly I used the pen to cross out the name of Yong Teck Li and wrote my name on it....

After a while, when my father wanted to read the paper, he saw something wrong because the paper was the early paper and yet being scribbled like that... haha...

He asked me whether I want to be a politician in the future or not..I wondered for a while, what is a politician?
I just told him that I wanted to be a Dato'....

Let's rewind to nowadays...Found that the politics is just too dark and the Dato's stuff are very problematic!!
Especially in Malaysia, where no justice lies....corruption is everywhere...all the projects, stop and run, stop and run....due to the Malaysia Plan....Is it just a plan or they really need to execute it??
Malaysia is going to announce muflis in 2019, and the government still want to spend so much and owe so much money...
We, as Malaysian...always speak about Malaysia Boleh...Don't just speak it out...you have to do it..ok?
Hey...you..boleh dari segi mana?? corruption? non-justice?

The government of Malaysia...please ....please wake up....
if not, I will go and challenge in the election in the future...

But, when I asked Shin Yi about it, she just told me that this is not as easy as I think...And I know it from long time ago that politics is a very complex thing. If I am able to run for it, I think I will go for it..why not?
Chinese proverbs :"it's known that there're tigers in the mountain but still want to go there"...

I just know that ...Malaysia if keeps this stupid momentum of politics for few more years later....it will end like Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain...the so called PIGS....

Protection is the priority I need to do..

Yes....I need to protect oneself from being hurt anymore..

I need to do that because I don't allow anything happen on her..

Please.....God...please don't allow anything that can hurt her anymore....

p/s: Shin Yi, pray for me...

What happen to NTU??

What the hell is happening here?!!

All the campus buildings are fenced... Which is not good I think....looks like a jail..
Maybe it is there to make way for preparation of the coming YOG( Youth Olympic Games)
And this DAMN YOG, makes a lot of the students who are working in the campus, have no room to stay during the whole August...

Even though I have room during the 1st round, I did not apply for the vacation room. Many friends scold at me and I feel sorry that I did not apply that..to accommodate them in the room I applied during the vacation in August..

Once I got back NTU,  I thought I got a job as I informed my supervisor in advanced that I will work in this particular period. However, thanks to urgently started project, she hired more people to work and abandon me for 2 weeks..Luckily I still manage to get the post back in July..phew...

Now, within this 2 weeks, I will do nothing everyday but sleep eat and play...I am not working in this 2 weeks...I plan to go to the casinos and give myself a bet in them..^^ and also I will prepare for the interview in this coming days....hopefully can get it....Good luck to me...^^ optimistic towards it!

This picture was taken in Tip of Borneo...This beautiful scene, I wish that it will never be vanished by pollution...

Expectation

Some people expect them to be known by others...
Some people expect them to be respected well by others..
Some people expect them to be the greatest among the crowd..

When they never meet these expectation, they start to think, did they do something wrong??

Actually, to gain respect, some name from others, what you really need to do , is do nothing.. Don't do anything deliberately to make other knows you...

The time will come and make yourself to be known among the people..

Why does Malaysian Airlines(MAS) use "Going Beyond Expectation" as slogan? Do they want to let others know them? Yes...in the sense of business and marketing , they need them(slogan) even though this is not a really great success....

For individual effort, it is not necessary for us to do something deliberately to gain respect from others...What you did, others witnessed and will evaluate from what you did...
