Irrational step

I was reading the Star this morning and saw this title:

"Maths and Science back to Bahasa Malaysia"

I really shocked with this article and again surprised with the news which was published in sinchew jit poh which said that there is an association will fight for the rights of Malay Language teaching in universities...

It was a really great shock for me as I am a student who always support the good and a better policy which benefits the future of a nation.

This is terrible and this act will just only affect the competitiveness of our young generation in the globalisation era. Not just for that, the government had been so irrational to take this step as this will cause a lost in publication companies, not for the sake of whatever profit that they want, but I call it for the sake of the young generation here.

People from other countries can take the initiatives to learn the language well, why not our people?
The government came out with the survey stated that most of the teachers did not use English as the teaching language in Science and Maths, and also quite a lot of students cannot catch up with the language because of the difficulty of language.
All of this can be solved if the fanatic groups do not interfere the policy. Think of what the best for the young generation and the future.
Ok. Malay and Chinese are important, however, do you think of what will happen if our people deal with the international business after that?
Malay is not deniable that is a very important language for us, it symbolised the independent and what they so-called it's their main characteristics of the race. Malay language has been taught for many years and now the language issues keep shifting again and again after so many years and yet did not see any improvement in the education system. It failed.

So, why not the education system just stick to one language and it will unite us all?? Isn't that 1Malaysia policy working like that??

The argument is that industrialized countries such as Japan, Germany and France continue to use their mother tongue (or national language) to teach Maths and Science and yet their people can still conduct business with other people successfully who do not speak Japanese/German/French. And they are no way subpar compared the said people.

The current government, much like a hormonal teenager. Can never seem to stick to just one plan. Shame shame !! While i do agree that using English as a medium in Maths and Science will not improve Malaysians' English, but it will be a great help to those who intend to further their studies in English-speaking countries.

Singaporean English is no good either. Tainted much by Singlish. DUH !! Same can be said for those in KL.

and, industrialise countries are so diligent to study and learn about the language...even though they have difficulty in it, but, they still manage to learn...unfortunately, it will not happen in our country..as long as they are still in honeymoon + lazy, I guarantee, they won't be as sucessful as those industrialised ones.

Actually, we still have English as a core subject in our education system ...

The best solution is to bring back English medium school, in my humble opinion. My parents were both English medium secondary school graduate ^-^

And according to those who oppose the idea of teaching Maths and Science in English, students can't seem to understand the questions asked or instructions in English.

Those teachers teaching Maths and Science do not seem to be very good in English either. So how can we force those poor kids to learn Science and Maths in English ?

May be it's time for Malaysia to get helps from Peace Co. again. Most of the teachers came from United States and United Kingdom. And these teachers work for free. A big majority of my parents' teachers back in secondary school came here under Peace Co.
