I attended a public lecture by a professor from Harvard University, addressing the title called " Asia and the global economy". This prof, to my impress, he is really a nice one but I was so unfortunate for not giving him any questions during the session.
So, here we go like this in the session.
Firstly, he showed the charts and the figures (about the past few years GDP of top 10 economy pre and post The Great Recession). China caught up very fast and also India, Brazil..
I was really surprised that Brazil is in the list and for the next few years, perhaps 10 more years to come, Brazil will continue stay in the top 10 list. I wondered why Brazil can have such a powerful economy.
Maybe USA is his neighbour? Maybe after the Great Recession, they became the biggest natural resources supplier in the region and made them became one of the top 10?
Here I want to stress out that Brazil is one of the most populous country in the world, not only vast jungle but also has the greatest metropolitan in the world, namely Brasilia and Rio De Janerio.
I have no idea with the PPP, but for the one thing I can be sure is, Brazil has a lot of natural resource, just like us(Malaysia). Brazil(anyone can provide me the data for this country?) , I believe, besides produces the best footballers in the world, they are also the great dealer( As we can see, they are the top 10 for the past few years).
Why is Singapore not included in this ranking? Isn't it one of the biggest in Asia? Where is Malaysia?
People( foreign investors) afraid of those potential factors that could affect their profits. Just like what we have in Malaysia, the unstable politics, racial issues, social issues are rampant. Risk adverse investors like me, 100% will not take any action on these countries. Right?
That's why Singapore has the winning situation - stable politics, friendly-business law, all-the-way-procedured steps, the demography of the country and also the better facilities compare to the neighbouring countries.
Good and stable economy, Malaysia should achieve this with no negative issues around. But, we have a good example to learn from, why Malaysia is still sleeping?! Don't tell me you are the sleeping GIANT!!!!

At last..
I never expect that my 200th post will post something like this..
At last, she got her Mr. Right..
I will bless them....(Don't I feel happy about it, do I?)
A senior told me before about a lesson that should be learnt in uni life is to learn how to let go.
I bet that I am still learning how to let go too...Maybe now, I can really have to let go..
Anyhow, I am still who I am...also waiting for the Ms Right, also waiting for the right moment, also waiting for the graduation, looking for a better life ahead....I just want to be the happy one..

Hazy days
Hazy days, AGAIN??!
Well, this kind of weather really makes people want to sleep, feeling uncomfortable to play, work and even having .....(ok, you know what I meant)
What happens actually is due to the burning fire(hot spot) from our dear neighbouring country-Indonesia.
They are the peasants in Sumatera and as a typical nomad peasant does, they burn the whole jungle for the sake of convenience and then use the land for agricultures(conventional thoughts).
OMG....this is terrible....a bunch of lazy asses ... why are they using such method to destroy the jungle?
Reason is simple, they don't have many manpower to do the deforestration and that's why they use the simplest way to destroy it..uneducated way...burn the jungle and cause the air pollution without considering the consequences and this is an uncivilized society's methodology!
We are experiencing the deadly air in Malaysia( especially West Coast) and also Singapore..
I can see the building just about 5-8 m in front of me. It's serious enough to have an accident!
Not only accident, health is once again in turmoil. However, it's a positive effect for the healthcare sector. The more patients in this society, the more healthcare workers we need, the happier the pharmaceutical producers are!..then, our Mr Ng and Ms Tan, and also Ms Christine Wong, sure have secured jobs!(anyway, doctors are always a secured job)
Everyone is wearing the mask again( as if we were heading back to the SARS/H1N1 period). It's crazy,MAN! I hope that I can see the blue sky as soon as possible...not healthy at all at the moment!

Joke from Seminar made me alive...
One day, I attended a workshop in my university about the fund raising. As a business manager of a society, this seminar is compulsory for me to attend and with the financial controller by my side( luckily she was there, if not, I would sleep throughout the talk!)
Well, the workshop went well. Started by the introduction ..blah blah....with the fundraising inside university. I just realized that there are a lot of funds inside university itself and not really have to outsource the sponsorship as the fund provided by university is always approved and the amount is also quite satisfying...
So, the workshop went on until there's a segment where this lady , a facilitator of the talk, addressed this...
"Do you know any current issues ?" I was just too attentive to the lady in front and suddenly she said " oh ya, do you know that FedEx and UPS merged to form a company already? called Fed-Ups...." -.="
Wao....a joke...well, this really worked for all of us when all of us were about going to sleep and suddenly there's a force pulling me back to keep on track with the seminar....
The seminar started at 2pm and ended at 6! 4 hours....sleepy of course..but I learned a lot from it...About fund raising, and also networking stuff....it will useful for all of us in the future where we will be the boss of a company to know other representatives...

My recess week+recently what I did
Recess week!!! But, I have no time to recess as I have plenty of matters to settle.
1. Matlab for URECA ( I had changed the title already)
2. Doing revision for the post-recess CA
3. Attending Matlab Workshop
4. Biz mag thingy
5. Doing Past year papers
Quite a lot of things in my mind and I have no time to take a breath. I wonder what other people will do in Singapore instead staying at home, sitting on the comfortable sofa and relax........That's what I want now...
RELAX for my recess week and don't want to do anything at all!
Recently what I did:
Anyway, I 've been rejected by the 1st choice company and surprisingly, I didn't feel bad at all. Numb?
Or not the 1st choice is always the best? I always tell myself that there will be another way to the best way. So, Arup may be not my destined one and now, I am waiting for a better one to come!
Now, I can feel the tense academically and ECA wise. I really have no time to cope with my academic and realizing that academic just a tiny part of my life and I think ECA will affect quite a lot in the future. Suddenly also realize that civil engineer is not a job for me. Maybe it will be my career but not my interested one. Maybe I need to do some investment like invest in stock market?
Anyway, I am always excited to learn new things, especially career-related and non-academic thingy..=)
